Tri-State Hosta Society
Since it is becoming increasingly difficult (and expensive) to book speakers for our meetings we are going to try something different for the January 26, 2002 meeting at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. When it was originally conceived, the January meeting was intended to be an informal get-together of Tri-State members, a cabin fever coffee klatch if you will, breaking the non-gardening monotony of winter. With this original intent in mind, this January we will be opening the meeting up to any member who is willing to talk, show slides, answer hosta questions, exchange catalogs, or otherwise "entertain" our fellow attendees.
We have many knowledgeable gardeners amongst our members, and now may be the time for you to strut your stuff. Walter Cullerton has volunteered to do a brief slide show on a hosta topic, and Dot Haber will give us a glimpse into the world of hellebores, a companion plant she has a passion for. Please join these 2 volunteers and offer to "show and tell" as well. We hope to get together a panel of member "experts" to field your questions on pests, diseases, planting techniques, plant sources, etc. This will be an informal meeting so don't be shy; many of you have more than a dessert to "share". Sharing is fun.
Come at noon, bring your own lunch, a dessert for some friends, TSHS provides
the beverages. After some mid-winter schmoozing with friends, get ready for our program that
begins at 1:00 PM.
