JANUARY BLUES

Saturday January 27, 2007 at 12:30 p.m.

Frelinghuysen Arboretum - Morristown, NJ

Or should we call it the January blahs? No matter what we call it, there are no blues in January, nor any golds, greens, or variegateds either. So, in an effort to brighten the cold, gray winter days without hostas, we have decided to turn our meeting on Saturday, January 27 at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum into a cabin fever luncheon gathering at 12:30 pm. For a contribution of $15.00 per person, Tri-State will host a catered event on that day for members, complete with food, beverages and hosta fellowship. Unfortunately, the space at the Arboretum restricts our attendance to 100 people, so this party will be limited to the first 100 members who respond.

Please RSVP (with your check) BEFORE JANUARY 12 to our Treasurers, Meg and Jim Dalton, at 518-584-2653 or Dalton2@localnet.com and mail your check(s) to them at 284 Middle Grove Road, Middle Grove, NY 12850. A reservation coupon was included with your newsletter for your convenience. Your RSVP and check must be received before January 12 and remember that attendance will be limited to the first 100 members who respond.

Though we have no formal "entertainment" planned for that day, Kathie Sisson has volunteered to put together a power point presentation for you all to enjoy. So, please send whatever digital pictures you might wish added to this program (of individual hostas, of your garden, or others) to Kathie at kcsisson@aol.com. If you do not have any digital pictures just bring your hosta photos or any hosta-related merchandise for show and tell, and of course, your very best hosta spirits to wash away those January blues.

In the event of bad weather, please call Roberta at 973- 334-2116 to see if Mother Nature has forced us to alter our plans.
