July 2010 Meeting

Garden Tour - Dhanu Sannesey

Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

23 Ridgeview Terrace, Goshen, NY 10924

As a Senior Master Gardener, Dhanu volunteers at the Cornell Co-Operative Extension Service in Orange County, New York. She is a collector of unusual shade perennials and fragrant tropical plants, primarily from Asia. Her garden has a tropical appearance centered around two Japanese koi fish ponds, and it contains an extensive collection of hellebores, hosta, epimediums, heuchera, tiarellas, Siberian iris, sedum, Japanese maples, clumping bamboo, and other shade-loving plants. On Friday and Saturday during the months of May and June she sells divisions of the plants in her garden to the public, usually at prices under $10. Hopefully she will still have some plants available when we arrive in July. For more information on this garden see Dhanu’s website: wwwsymphonyperennials.com. Bring your chair, your lunch, a dessert to share, and a plant or two for our auction, which will follow the tour of Dhanu’s garden. After the auction we will be travelling on to nearby Manza Family Farm for some extra purchasing opportunities. So come join in the fun!
